Lysander is a master’s student at the University of Oxford, where he studies mathematical and theoretical physics. He currently serves as Technical Advisor at Encode Justice, helping oversee the technical aspects of policy work. At university he originally focused on theoretical particle physics, before becoming aware of the rapid rate of academic progress in AI capabilities and the lack of effective safety research. Lysander aims to help develop safe and aligned AI for the benefit of all of humanity.
